We are currently looking for local volunteers based in Gwent to support within our Re;Store service with the aim of making people feel part of their community and being accepted. By volunteering with The Wallich, you will be part of our community, striving to create a Wales where people stand together to provide hope, support, and solutions to end homelessness. Find out more about Wales' leading homelessness charity, The Wallich here:    www.thewallich.com/about-us 

Project Description:

Stepping into The Re;Store individuals are able to access a set of diverse, inclusive and supportive workshops and activities that will allow you to grow, improve, not only you but those around you and your community.

You will also be met with the warmest welcome on this side of Gwent.

In an environment that is designed by you, by us and is safe, inclusive and non-judgmental.

The Re;Store will grow with you and be there on your journey, however big or small.

Using co-production and community resources, we at The Re;Store aim to help those who have the experience of homelessness, whether that be directly or indirectly, to anyone who’s feels they have a need to be supported.

Our support reaches all individuals and the wider community.

Role Description:

We strive to make sure that the duties you undertake align with your skills, experience and development plans. In general Support Volunteers will be involved in the following: -

- Arranging and running diversionary activities

- Spending time with visitors on problem free activities

- Attending team meetings when possible and contributing to team discussions

- To safeguard and promote the best interests of our visitors.

The most important attribute a volunteer can bring to The Wallich is their values and keenness to help prevent homelessness. We are looking for individuals who are courageous, determined, authentic, compassionate and who want to be part of our community. Everything else can be taught, either through volunteer mentors and peers on site, or through our wide range of training that is available to all volunteers.
