Become a Trustee of a homelessness charity in Wales.

We need Trustees to help us get people off the streets, keep people off the streets and create opportunities for people.

It's a great opportunity to obtain Board experience, while helping a cause you care about. Our Board of Trustees help us operate legally as a charity, oversee our governance and serve as a critical friend to help us provide maximum benefit to the people we support.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of The Wallich, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with its charitable objectives as set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.

As the Board is responsible and liable for the governance and functioning of The Wallich, they are accountable in varying degrees to a variety of stakeholders and/or regulators, including: staff, service users, members, funders, the Charity Commission and Companies House.

We want to attract people with these skills:

  • Corporate expertise

  • HR expertise leading to Vice Chair of our People & Talent Committee

  • Clinical expertise

  • Sustainability expertise leading to a Sustainability Champion on the Board

We particularly welcome new members who are Black or from a Minority Ethnic community at this time.

Purpose of Role

Working with other trustees, to hold the charity ‘in trust’ for current and future beneficiaries by:

1. Ensuring that the charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these

2. Being responsible for the performance of the charity and for its culture

3. Ensuring that the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

4. Acting as guardians of the charity’s assets, both tangible and intangible, taking all due care over the security, deployment and proper application

5. Ensuring that the charity’s governance is of the highest possible standard
