Hours of Work:  37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 with some flexibility

Contract: Fixed term until March 2026 - will also consider secondments for internal staff

Purpose of Role

The Engagement & Progression Mentor will work with internal Wallich projects to promote and help gather referrals for the Torfaen Works project. This will include going out to visit Wallich projects, speaking to staff and potential participants about the project, and arranging taster sessions. The Engagement & Progression Mentor will support service users to access basic skills, job searching activities, volunteering placements, courses or employment. The Mentor will maintain regular communication with participants and offer guidance, encouragement and practical support to aid their progression into the next phase of their journey. Support will be provided via phone calls, emails, Teams calls and face-to-face meetings. There will be a requirement to travel to visit service users and external partners across Torfaen. The Engagement & Progression Mentor will work with external partners to secure opportunities for the participants who have completed the Torfaen Works programme and work closely with Wallich staff to make sure that the participants’ individual needs are met. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.  

Please note: Driving Licence and access to own vehicle is essential for this role as will need to cover Torfaen local authority.
