Project Description

Gwent BOOST is mid-point in a five-year National Lottery Community Fund Helping End Homelessness funded project, the aim of the service is to make homelessness rare and stop recurrences.

A partnership between The Wallich, St Giles Trust, Cyfannol Women’s Aid, Welsh Refugee Council, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Tai Pawb. The project delivers a range of activities to give people with lived experience of homelessness opportunities to access training, gain worthwhile qualifications, undertake volunteering and secure paid work. It is also looks to promote more inclusive practices, use a psychologically informed approach and adopts the principles of co-production.

Purpose of Role

We are currently recruiting for 4 individuals to join us as Gwent BOOST Pioneers.

The postholder will be managed by The Wallich and will work alongside the partners to assist in the running of the BOOST Project, utilising opportunities to learn skills, gain knowledge and experience whilst carrying out the duties required by our partners.

You will deliver support from your knowledge, skills and life experience to enable individuals to address the complex issues surrounding homelessness. Alongside this you will be actively involved with the BOOST Social Enterprise, where you will be one of the leads in this exciting, vibrant and transformative enterprise.

Through your role you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, with the opportunity to access a broad scope of training.

As an integral part of your role you will work across the BOOST partners to ensure you gain experience and knowledge to lead you on to your next employment opportunity.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and is ringfenced for individuals with lived experience of homelessness, or similar.
